About me
Hello there…
I’m Steve, and I write words for a living. I’ve loved writing for as long as I can remember. As soon as I learnt that you could make money from it, that was the plan.
I started out as a newspaper journalist. I wanted to be a sports reporter when I was a kid but ended up in news before realising night shifts are not for me (I do like a solid 8 hours’ sleep).
Copywriting followed, almost by accident really. What started out as a two-week stop-gap contract at BBH turned into a full-time job. Since then, I’ve written copy for a load of big brands including Eurostar, Nike, Audi UK, Mentos, Gordon’s gin, and Fruit Shoot across everything from CRM emails and social posts to brand guidelines and sustainability reports.
Away from my desk…
I love cooking and spending most of my wages at good restaurants. I run and go to the gym. I’m still terrible at CrossFit after doing it for over three years. I read a lot (what good writer doesn’t?). I’ve been a follower of Luton Town FC for as long as I can remember. I’m a bit of a quiz whizz - music is my specialist subject. And I love to travel, see new places and experience different cultures (the picture is of me on Hanoi Train Street in 2025).
